CALCUTTA, 22 April--It is uncommon to see a magician putting up public performances in the city of world renowned magician P.C.Sarkar! When that magician happens to be a priest and a foreigner, the wonder is even greater. From 25th April to 4th May, an Italian Salesian priest will he performing to large crowds of school children and general public in Calcutta. Eight public shows are scheduled to be held at Bandel, Liluah, Park Circus. Mirpara and Shanti Dan. To educate towards marvels and towards joy It has been said that children like to go to school, as well as return home from school. It's what is in between that they don't like. However in Turin, at the Salesian Michael Rua Oratory there is a school capable of inciting strong interest by all its participants. Here one learns conjuring, magic, t he ail of trickcry, the skills to stupefy and marvel. Director, master and creator is a Salesian priest, Fr.Silvio Manteili, better known under the name of Magician Sales. For over twenty years he has presented in oratories, in schools, in the youth centers all over Italy his shows, real moments of animation, where participation is the secret of the success of the party. Fr.Silvio is an impassioned communicator who tells tales making characters, stories and parables conic alive. He is happy to share his abilities and his capabilities with his friends and students. Master of a large group of artists, now professionals, among which the quick-change artist Arturo Brachetti, Fr.Silvio thinks of magic as communication and message. "magic can be a therapeutic means he assures it can cure anxieties and shyness. To learn a magic trick and execte it in public can better ourselves and positively modify our relationships with others. If you don't believe it, all you can do is try it." Therefore at his school, a long with the art of trickery, one can study recitation, direction and sonic practical psychology to learn to know one's own character and that of the public that one wishes to amuse.
